School’s Out! (Select-A-Set)

This is a quick set I’m throwing together to celebrate the end of a the school year but also a congratulations to the Class of 2014! Wishing you all the best summer and great things to come.

First – Alice Cooper’s “School’s Out.” No select-a-set of this nature could be even conceived without this song for multiple reasons, least of all the title says it all. Um…plus it’s Alice Cooper. Need I say more?

Second – “Another Brick in the Wall” – Pink Floyd. This song is a bit extreme on the anti-school feel and is about a bigger picture but nonetheless it certainly fits the bill of the last day of school and just trying to get a way for a bit. Plus it’s so catchy.

Third – for the graduates in the house – “It’s Time” by Imagine Dragons. Time to move forward but keep true to yourself.

Bonus: Okay so I decided to add another track for the graduates out there. Here it is: Sara Bareilles’ “Brave.” Don’t be afraid to be you and do what you want. Don’t let fear rule you. You may just be surprised at how much you can really do when you don’t worry about others.
