This is just something I wanted to share. I first heard this group via Pandora. Let me tell you… I love Pandora! I really love it when they seem to know what I want to hear and introduces me to music I never would have found otherwise.
The “Wailin’ Jennys” is a trio of some of the most beautifully voiced women I’ve encountered. First – not a one of them is named Jenny as I would have guessed. According to Wikipedia, they’re so named as a pun on Waylon Jennings name.
I suppose I don’t care so much about that as I do the music. I could listen to them all day. They harmonize so well also. They’re not related but you would be inclined to think so they harmonize so well.
Well, I’ll let the music speak for itself. I’ll leave you with a few of my more favorite tunes by them but at any time… please feel free to search for them on YouTube. They’re amazing!
The first is “Long Time Traveler” – the first song I ever heard by them. Impressive, sweet and sad but lovely.
“Swing Low, Sail High” – a love song. Simply love this.
“Bird Song” – this lady’s alto voice is so sweet to listen to; again the harmonizing is wonderful.
