I was going to wait to do this until I either had a few more followers or something, but I decided after receiving a very sweet gesture today that I should do my “thank you” now. So… THANK YOU ALL for being so awesome and following this blog! I’m seriously humbled by your presence. I started this blog with very few expectations, hope I suppose were there but not actual expectations.
I would like to give a special thanks to claudiabette <http://amorainbette.wordpress.com/> for having been so awesome and nominating me for the Versatile Blogger Award! It’s really awesome to be recognized particularly so quickly in my blogging career. I’m never quite sure if I’m doing all that well or not so it’s a very nice thing to get that kind of recognition. Thank you!
So apparently with all this “power” or whatever you choose to call it, comes responsibility. There are rules to receiving an award… who knew? Actually, I think it’s a cool deal and sort of like paying it forward – pass on the good vibes to others. I’m down with that. I’m still figuring out this whole linking business so if it doesn’t come out right, my apologies in advance.
For me, the following are some of the most awesome, interesting writers or photographers I currently follow. Please check their blogs out because they’re pretty darn awesome (just so you know, I don’t have much of a following just yet so I suppose giving these awards out won’t mean so much from me just yet – someday though).
The Culture Monk <http://culturemonk.com/> – this guy is fabulous! Love his blog and what he has to say. His observations are always on target. He certainly gives you plenty to think on and consider. P.S. he loves his coffee!
Sophoxymoria <http://sophoxymoria.wordpress.com/> – he’s pretty random but he has really good thoughts. He always provides a fun read.
Kendall F. Person <http://thepublicblogger.com/> – this gentleman is an amazing writer! He’s very professional in his approach and always thought-provoking.
The Dimwit Diary <http://thedimwitdiary.com/> – this blogger won’t even accept this nomination but I just love his writing. He’s so darned funny and he always puts a smile on my face.
The Love Manifesto <http://thelovemanifesto.wordpress.com/> – I enjoy this young man’s writing. He has some great thoughts on love and relationships.
Fear No weebles <http://fearnoweebles.wordpress.com/> – this lady is quite opinionated but always has some good thoughts. She has an interesting perspective on things worth checking out.
Kartwheels <http://kartwheels.org/> – This blogger has a bit of a specific target audience but for those who have children will really find her site helpful. She has some awesome tips for creative and fun activities for you and your kids. Please check her blog out.
Jump for Joy <http://jumpforjoyphotoproject.wordpress.com/> I really love this blog. She has a great perspective on life and jumping for joy is part of that point of view. Her photography is also stunning!
One Note at a Time <http://practicingbetter.com/> this young woman always seems to know what to say that really speaks to me and what’s going on in my life and she’s talking about music and teaching lessons to students. I told her once I thought music is a wonderful metaphor for many things and for me that’s very true.
Markovich Arts <http://markovicharts.com> – I really enjoy this man’s photography but his short stories are also really worth checking out. I love his originality and style.
Those are some starters for you. I will be sure to give more shout outs to fellow bloggers in the future. All of those folks have something really special to contribute so please be sure to check them out including my nominator claudiabette.
Now part of the rules also include telling my nominator seven things about me. Well I’ll just post it in here because if you’re following you’re going to find out about it anyway so here it goes:
1. I used to play the flute. I hope to do so again some day.
2. I currently volunteer with a nonprofit organization and write letters to deployed military personnel.
3. I dislike coffee and beer, but love hot cocoa and whiskey. Jack Daniels and Crown are the best (so far haha).
4. I am originally from Denver, Colo., but now live in Needles, Calif.
5. I am a professional journalist for a small weekly newspaper.
6. I love Muddy Buddies (a snack food I really must give up).
7. I have been to Italy once and I sincerely hope to get back one day.
So again, thank you all for following my blog. I’m truly grateful and again thanks for nominating me! So honored!
LOL I can’t drink beer at all, it puts me to sleep. But JD does nothing to me…no joke. Hard liquor barely fazes me. I’m weird!
body chemistry is a funny thing isn’t it? im confident that my mexican-irish background is why i like whiskey and tequila but can’t stand vodka lol go figure. 🙂
I’m full mexican (wished I had Irish in me).
I believe this phenomenon happened to me after I had my kid. So many things changed after I had my kid. Before, I used to be able to drink beer like water. But not now. Now I can’t shot tequila but I can take alot of it in my margaritas!
Dang it…now I want it to be Happy Hour…
haha happy hour would be awesome right about now 🙂 and i do hear that pregnancy has a way of changing a person.
hmmm…so i read all that and you know what pops into my mind…..I have no bloody clue what muddy buddies are! Were you raised in the U.S. or the Far East! lol muddy buddies?? AND you EAT them???
LOL i was raised in denver; never been to the middle east; i first learned of muddy buddies in college by a friend who would make them – it’s a chex mix – chex cereal with melted chocolate, peanut butter and powdered sugar basically (there’s also vanilla and butter/margarine to round it out. i’ve recently found them again but i can just buy them so … i do.. on occasion. 🙂 if you see them you should try them. its not health food lol but a yummy snack for once in a while.
Congratulations~ Cheers!! 😀
thank you! 🙂
You’re welcome! Cheers~ 😀
